ALPHENAAR

The Alphenaar is the first Dutch zero-emission inland vessel to utilize swappable ZESpacks. For this project, ZES is collaborating with Heineken and CCT to enable sustainable container transport between Alphen aan den Rijn and Moerdijk.

UPCOMING: The eSeaRiverBarge

With the eSeaRiverBarge project, ZES is expanding its zero-emission network to the route between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Together with Tharsis Ship Management, and supported by EU funding, we are building two innovative sea-river vessels that will operate on our swappable ZESpacks, starting in 2027.

With this, we are proving that sustainable, modular maritime logistics will be internationally scalable and commercially viable from 2029.

The Next Ones to Join:

More and more inland skippers are choosing a zero-emission future using ZES technology. To date, 12 skippers have already taken the leap and been awarded grants for operating with swappable ZESpacks. Thanks to this financial support, the transition to clean, quiet, and efficient waterborne transport is becoming even more accessible. The transition has officially begun: together with these frontrunners, we are building a sustainable and future-proof network for inland shipping.
